Shower & Last Day

Today was my last day at school. I have been packing up my classroom all week, so I was a little sad when I closed my door for the last time tonight.

The highlight of the day, however, was that my coworkers gave me a lovely baby shower. I had all these thoughtful comments about goodbyes and friendships swirling around on my drive home, but now I'm sleepy, a little emotionally spent & still need to work on my to-do list. So, I'll post a few photos...

How exciting and wonderful! It is like a totally new chapter - what a wonderful school family you have! I am going to make it to the end of the school year but am trying to figure out how not to come back until at least after Christmas time next year. Have a wonderful trip!!

What a wonderful way to end your year! I love how others are so positive during this entire experience with all of our adoptions....it is really a great thing. A few more days and you will be holding your child!!!

What a lovely shower! I believe (from the Buddhist tradition) that as a circle ends, another begins. It's incredible to think that you closed a door to one journey and are opening another door to the journey of your life, motherhood. All weaving together to make such a rich life for yourself and others. I am so happy for you.
