Turo likes to pretend to be a baby, so we frequently play out the following scene:
Turo: Wrap it (pulling blanket to the floor)
Mama: (fold blanket around Turo)
Turo: Go (points to door)
Mama: (Exit room)
Turo: Wahwahwah
Mama: (Enter room) It’s okay, baby. It’s okay.
As we play, I can’t help but wonder of the deeper subconscious stuff that might be going on for Turo. Is he replaying a moment from when he was an infant? Is he recalling a person who calmed him with soothing words? Or is he reframing a time when he was crying and nobody was there to offer comfort? Sometimes when I scoop up my “baby”, I think about the 17 months before us. What was his world like?
What are his memories?
