Today is our court passing anniversary. After not passing the first time due to a clerical error, we were so disappointed. I wondered if we ever would emerge on the "other" side.
As we waited on our second court date, we kept the information very quiet. I didn't want to tell a bunch of people we didn't pass again.
We asked our case worker to call Jose first. I gave Jose clear instructions on the times he could contact me - during lunch and my prep. Sometime during 4th period, an office helper arrived at my door with an envelope. The card inside declared "it's a boy!" By the time I called the main office, Jose had already left. We officially had a son and less than two weeks to get ready to travel to Ethiopia. (Keep in mind we had bought almost nothing for Turo, thinking it would jinx us and we also were packing our house to move to Michigan upon our return. It would prove to be a crazy, giddy, exhausting twelve days.)
When we finally made it home to celebrate.
We toasted with the flutes we used at our wedding.
The boy we were so close to meeting

Congrats on a great reason to celebrate~ AGAIN! :)
Funny, David and I were talking about your cutie today. I told him we needed to check out your blog b/c (he isn't a blogger like I am) he needed to see how much he has grown!
He was so fun on the stairs. Great memories! He has such a great personality! I still remember saying his name and all of the ladies who worked there looking excited and lighting up at the mention of his name! He was treasured by the Gladney staff. I hope you enjoyed your court date anniversary!
