Expecting

I'm a little jealous of pregnant people because at a certain point you know they are going have a baby. They glow and pat their cute round bellies. People can look at pregnant gals and know that they are about to become mothers. It's not that I'm longing for pregnancy, but rather, I wish for clearer announcement to the world that I'm on my way to becoming a mom. I'm so excited about this next step in my life, and I want to be able to share that.

So, I bought a necklace. I saw it on a blog early in my blog reading days and wanted it, but it seemed too soon. Now that we are in the midst of our wait, I needed something tangible that represents that this really, actually could be happening for us. My necklace came in the mail today in the sweetest little box, and I was so thrilled to put it on.

Here is the etsy site of the woman who made it. Her daughter is also adopting from Ethiopia.

Very pretty...and Congratulations on being Adoption Pregnant! If you lived close by and we went out to lunch, I would make sure that you got to sit up front, had doors opened for you, and all of the other fun things that pregnant people get to enjoy. You deserve it too! I can't wait until you get a referral! Just like people guess "delivery dates," I am going to put in my guess that you get your referral on October 28th! Let's see if I'm right or not. :)

I love that necklace! Does it spark conversation that allows you to announce that you are expecting?
It is an exciting time! Congratulations!

I love the necklace! I have something else for you to try that will feel really good- one day my husband and I were out working on our registry for Maryn and Keller at Babies R Us when my husband insisted that I park in the expecting mothers spot- I felt a little guilty but at the same time it felt great! Although we are not carrying our children in our bellies we carry them in our heart and I would argue that can be more challenging emotionally. Looking forward to your referral!

I love this necklace and have been hinting that I want one (hinting as in: Hey, there's this Africa necklace on Etsy that I want).
