A Walk with Turo

Today Turo and I had had a little outing on campus. As we headed from lunch to the car, Turo did the following:
1. As we left the building, he stopped to watch the press conference with the athletic director on our new football coach. Made noises of agreement to the A.D.’s remarks. Pointed out to the student next to us that “you have brown skin like me”
2. Flopped in the snow to make an angel and then invited passing students to take a look
3. Played with all three sections of the chain border between the grass and the sidewalk
4. Climbed up on the raised snow covered grass area but was distracted by snow sweeper
5. Watched snow sweeper machine clean the steps in front of Hill auditorium
6. Put hand in the fire hose connector things coming out of a building
7. Hid in small corner
8. Looked in Michigan apparel store window
9. Found another fire house connector thing to touch
10. Looked at display in sushi restaurant
11. Crossed sidewalk to look at newspaper boxes and asked for money to buy a paper
12. Decided he was cold, got back into stroller and rode backwards “to be warm”

What I find really interesting is that Turo seems to have picked up on colors of skin from really early on. Didn't you mention way back in a different post that when you took him to the African-American museum that he vocally said something to someone re their skin? Or being brown?

OA is the same age that Turo was then, I think, but he's not yet mentioned anything about skin... differences yet...

Turo is very smart and seemingly especially perceptive. :)
